A fresh playlist comprising 5 songs again. Here you go-
First song on the playlist is by Californian based band from the late 80s- Sublime. The track is from the band’s 96′ album ‘Sublime’ and is called Santeria.
The band consisted of Bradley Nowell, Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh. Lou Dog (Nowell’s dalmatian) was the band’s mascot.
Despite having been released after the band’s lead singer’s death, songs like Santeria are considered Sublime’s signature songs.
I’m not sure why I hadn’t shared a Michael Bublé song yet. Anyway, here’s his Grammy Award-nominated single, Everything.
‘Everything’ was written by Bublé for his then girlfriend Emily Blunt.
The song is from the man’s fifth studio album (which won a Grammy) ‘Call Me Irresponsible’. In the US, the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and rose to number one in its second week. The only other artists to do this are Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Hilary Duff, N.W.A. and Sugarland.
This next song I’m sharing has a special place in my memory. From their much awaited 2008 album ‘Death Magnetic’, the music video for The Day That Never Comes aired so many times on so many channels here, and I watched through it every single time. It is needless to say, I really liked the song (still do).
Here’s something about the album-
Death Magnetic features more complex musical compositions and long, technical guitar solos from both Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield, marking a return to the band’s thrash metal roots.

With less than four days of airplay, “The Day That Never Comes” debuted at #7 on Billboards Mainstream Rock Chart, giving Metallica their sixteenth top ten hit on the chart. The next week it rose to #2 on the Mainstream Rock Chart. In its third week, it reached number one on the chart.
The next song I have for you is by British trip-hop band Sneaker Pimps and is a song the band is quite known for; it’s called 6 Underground.
I’d heard this track on a chillout station quite a few months back, and the track has been on my “to-share-on-blog” playlist since then. So finally, it made it here.
You might actually recognize it from the many films and TV shows it has been featured on.
Last song for today is a hit from the 70s and by the musically talented duo- The Carpenters. The song is called Top Of The World.
We were aimlessly channel surfing on TV the other day and the Johnny Depp movie Dark Shadows was showing. We heard this song featured there and my mum started singing along, my brother said something like “I actually like this song” and I decided to fill in the last slot on this playlist with this track.
Honestly, Top Of The World is a beautiful song. I’m not exactly a very big fan of The Carpenters. Their music tends to get monotonous. But there are a handful of songs, such as this that are just treasures from the 70s era.
